I’ve been on Substack for two weeks and here’s everything I’ve learned so far:

• Faster organic growth vs. my other newsletter

• I haven’t had one bad interaction — everyone is kind

• I’m not seeing a lot of AI slop, which is really nice

• The platforms closed API is quite limiting

• Show up on other people’s newsletters/shows to grow

• Chat is a really simple and easy way to bond with readers

• Deliverability is mildly concerning (50% open vs. 60% on Kit)

• I think there’s a big opportunity for flywheels with notes/posts

• The style of writing on X/Twitter seems to resonate here as well

• I’d bet that guest writing for other newsletters is HUGE growth opp

• Monetization is more difficult because of reader payment fatigue

Are you all seeing the same? Different? Am I way off here?
