When fintechs and neobanks appeared, according to the prevalent narrative at the time they should have disrupted the entire banking industry.
Turns out, as of today, the big banks are still there, as profitable as ever....
AI is cool, and adoption will only go up from here, and models will improve, and we will all get increased productivity from it, but the "widespread death of the incumbents" story (and that too within 24 months...) is mostly far-fetched imho.
