Whenever I'm asked, I always say that there's one book that clearly influenced my approach to life and work.
That book is Fooled by Randomness by Nassim Taleb.
Taleb wrote it in 2001, but I only got to read it about a decade later. I was hooked immediately and quickly followed up with Taleb’s subsequent work part of the Incerto collection: The Black Swan, The bed of Procrustes, Antifragile, Skin in the Game.
This is to say that developing the ability to thinking in probabilities is the single most important skill you need, as a lot of what happens to us is downstream of that.
