this is chuck. he teaches at one of the last remaining neon sign shop in tucson and wears socks with tevas. he loves neon; it’s always been a passion and not a job because he had a “really good job that would have been stupid to leave.” I asked him if neon was a dying art; he said yes bc the rise of LED has eliminated the barrier to entry in terms of skill level, but to him, “nothing glows like real neon.”
