Whoa! I woke up to two big surprises this morning... one: Substack finally had the good sense to introduce a Film/TV category, and two: TheMovieBox has just landed on the top leaderboard. Fantastic news!

Okay, quick intro: My name is Mike Morales, and I love movie trailers. I’ve always loved watching movie and TV trailers, which is why I started the blog themoviebox.net back in the late 2000s to cover the latest trailer releases hitting the web. It was a fun way to stay connected to all the movie and TV projects coming down the pipeline.

But after more than a decade of running my own self-hosted WordPress site, it became harder to keep everything updated and running smoothly, so I eventually decided to throw in the towel and close up shop. I thought that was the end of a nice run. But then, on a total whim, I told myself, why not give Substack a shot?

Now, nearly a year in, I’m honestly shocked and thrilled at how well everything is going. I love the Filmstack community here, and despite what recent box office numbers suggest, there’s still a tremendous amount of love out there for cinema and shows. So, let's hope Filmstack really explodes into bigger and better things next year, 2026!
