Vitamin C is highly effective through the skin. Occasionally a cow I’m milking has goopy milk, high somatic cell count, mastitis. I should write a whole post about that flawed science, but not now. The summary: The goopy filter on the left is from one cow one day (that milk is feed for pigs and chickens), I mix a tablespoon ascorbic acid with clabbered milk to make a lotion that I rub all over the udder. The filter on the right is the same cow the following day (milk for people!).

Ascorbic acid, vitamin C, consistently clears this issue on our farm where we use no pharmaceuticals, so our cows immune systems are as God designed. It is repeatable, showing the effectiveness of vitamin c through the skin.
