I love the Palace of Westminster (aka the Houses of Parliament) and don’t want to see it fall into the hands of soulless architectural modernisers. The threat of renovation is also an opportunity to ask if this grand and romantic monument is still a suitable stage for British politics today. I argue that it isn’t.
