I visited the room where Van Gogh painted "The Bedroom." The asylum at Saint-Rémy, where he spent most of his last year. The room is still there. The olive trees he painted just outside are still standing. It is a strange place to visit — beautiful and heavy at the same time. Today's Daybreak Notes & Beans includes a story about what forensic paint analysis has now revealed: the original colors in "The Bedroom" were quite different from what we see today.
