This is so beautiful, and I really resonate deeply with so much of it. I’m a first time parent to a son now five and this felt like the trip down memory lane. That hopeful fumbling in the dark trying to be the kind of regulated parent who allows kids more freedom when you never saw the template of what that looks like and perhaps more importantly, how activated it would make your nervous system - to hold space for something that you were taught to shove down.

Beautiful work, I think that parenting is probably the most spiritually healing thing we ever do as humans, and none of us were prepared for that to be something we navigate amidst the sleepless nights, and happy changes, and smeared food, and messy houses.
