Book Cover Background: This 2018 Bloomsbury redesign of Throne of Glass arrived in a strange in-between moment for the series. Released just ahead of Kingdom of Ash, most readers already owned earlier editions, and longtime fans were deeply attached to the original illustrated covers. The photographic, model-forward aesthetic also felt out of step with the epic scale and darkness the story grows into. With a short lifespan before later redesigns replaced it, this cover never had time to take hold — making it a transitional release rather than a defining one.
