Introduced in A Court of Mist and Fury, the Weaver is a deadly being who dwells in a cottage in the Middle—a neutral but treacherous part of Prythian. Though she has the youthful body of a maiden, her face is ancient, with milky eyes and a monstrous hunger. Feyre is sent to retrieve a ring from the Weaver’s hoard as a test of her skills and stealth. The Weaver sequence is also one of the first moments where Rhysand deliberately places Feyre into danger not to control her, but to force her to recognize her own growing capability.
