Women,

"Over-functioning" is often just a socially acceptable way to avoid the vulnerability of repair.

You don't get to use your exhaustion as a hall pass for being controlling or righteous. You are "doing everything" so you never have to be wrong and you can maintain control.

Who taught you that your labor was a substitute for your accountability?

Men,

Unfortunately you can’t use your status as the “provider” to avoid the vulnerability of repair.

I challenge men who believe that because they are a good man they provide. That eliminates emotional availability?

Where did you learn that “doing” and “paying for” was enough? Who taught you that?
