World Cloud Security Day is a good reminder for seniors to take a few minutes to check the security settings on the cloud services storing your photos, tax documents, and other personal files, whether that’s Google Drive, iCloud, or OneDrive.

The single biggest thing you can do is turn on two-factor authentication. It means that even if someone gets your password, they still can’t get into your account without a second code sent to your phone.

While you’re at it, look twice at any email asking you to “verify” your cloud account login. Phishing emails that pretend to be from Google or Apple are one of the most common ways accounts get compromised. When in doubt, go directly to the website instead of clicking any link in the email.
