365 Days of Reflections (Day 94)
The boys just watched Kung Fu Panda. Guess what song they were singing at the top of their lungs right after?
Kung Fu Fighting.
That song came out in 1974. I wasn’t even born yet. By the time I was old enough to properly enjoy music, it was already considered an oldie.
And yet here it is again.
That’s what films can do, isn’t it? They take something from one generation and quietly hand it to the next. A song that once belonged to someone else’s era suddenly becomes your children’s latest obsession.
I love that.
Now a whole new batch of kids will fall in love with it too. And honestly, it deserves the revival. It’s catchy, dramatic, and impossible not to sing along to.
So I’m off to look up the lyrics properly, teach it to them properly, and join in the singing and dancing myself.
