"forms of energy that are less destructive to the earth." I am wondering what forms you are referring to. The obvious choices (in my mind) are nuclear, hydro. and geothermal. I think that beyond those, and considering the full life cycle from mining materials to ultimate disposal, solar and wind might be more destructive. And in any case, I learned in 5th grade that carbon is essential for plant to thrive.
I very much agree with your theme of gratitude, and I truly don't want to be argumentative, but given what's at stake, I can't bring myself to ignore the problems with the "climate change/renewables" narrative.
