Usually we see a quick succession of number ones on the Billboard Dance charts. Most records stay at the top for just one or two weeks. The dance audience can be a bit feckless, always ready for the next new thing.

And they didn’t just touch the top, they stayed there for seven consecutive weeks.

Safe to say this was the biggest spring dance hit in the US in 1977. It remains their biggest hit.
