When we think about Earth, Wind & Fire, we usually think of Boogie Wonderland and their huge run of hits in the second half of the seventies, including plenty of action on the US dancefloors.

But it might surprise you that they had to wait until 1987 to score their first #1 on the Billboard Dance chart.

They eventually had two.

The second one was Thinking of You, which reached the top spot on this day in 1988.
