The app for independent voices

A few weeks ago, on the B-side of Tina Turner – “Typical Male,”

I explained why the 80s were full of dance-pop/rock crossovers…

…and how almost all of them got the 12-inch treatment.

One of the early examples:

The Greg Kihn Band – “Jeopardy” (1983)

Rock track… turned into a club record.

And it worked.

This day in 1983, it hit #1 on the US dance chart.

Different era. Different rules.

Genres were a lot more fluid on the dancefloor.

👉 Do you see this as a rock track… or a dance record?
