When I started researching this newsletter, I stumbled upon quite a few surprises. Tracks that did far better than I ever expected.

Case in point:

Eleanor – “Adventure”

I absolutely adore this record, but I always assumed it was one of those slightly obscure late-80s dance tracks only collectors and DJs remembered.

Turns out…

I was very wrong 😁

Because this day in 1988, Eleanor reached the very top of the US dance charts.

A reminder that sometimes the records we think were niche were actually massive in their moment.
