There are still incredible scientists at CDC doing the work. But there is no CDC director. Constrained funding. Unclear lines of communication. We have yet to hear a press conference walking the public through the evolving outbreak and response. No Health Alert Network message guiding clinicians. No agency translating WHO briefings and contact tracing data into something useful.
