The Cobden Club, Kensal Road, London W10 in the 1960s. Is that a Ford Corsair parked there? Tyre yard beyond. Bomb site beyond the tyre yard. Not very salubrious but the club was the ‘go to’ place for one of my granddads for a cheap light and bitter. This Cobden Club was named for Richard Cobden (he of the statue outside Mornington Crescent station) but nothing to do with his own set of Cobden Clubs. In the 1980s it was bought by a supermodel and the whole place turned into her new huge private abode
