Walking around an expo

What a brill time at the National Outdoor Expo this weekend.

Such fun to see Kyri and Ross from Dayhike Magazine. It’s always a thrill to see your words in print and I’m so happy they included my piece on measuring your walks in moments.

I saw Ronnie from Vertura who’s making climbing gear for women that fits and is fit for purpose. Tip: the Thermal Power Leggings work for walkers, too. If you missed it, check out our Substack interview: thewriterswalk.com/p/wa…

I’m so inspired by Rebecca from Vampire Outdoors who’s helping to make gear more accessible. Again, it’s about making sure people have gear that’s both fit for purpose and fits properly. Here’s the link to our interview from last year: thewriterswalk.com/p/wa…

Ahron from The Wild Path is connecting talented people who love the outdoors with jobs that will get them out there. If you fancy making nature and adventure your work, sign up to his Substack for a curated list of outdoor jobs each week.

Jo Moseley talked about perimenopause and the benefits of movement and getting outside. It’s great to see women talking openly and supportively about something we’ve hidden for too long.

And I learned about the outdoor industry’s best kept secret, Buffalo Systems, which Ben Fogle is now part of, and had a nerdy chat with them about technical fabrics and the work that goes into making outdoor clothing. Happy to report that I came home with the perfect lightweight and warm waterproof jacket, which marks the end of many years of searching for one.
