I haven’t posted for ages, or explained why, and I’ve gradually continued to acquire followers and subscribers anyway, and I didn’t see the point in writing an email about a lack of emails, so I’ve been quiet. My Substack was always free so I don’t feel too bad about it, but I should explain: I was in discussions about, and have now started, the kind of job that’s not compatible with writing any kind of political commentary, which was inhibiting while I was discussing it and is putting a complete stop to it now (it’s not a secret what it is, but I’m not going to go on about it here). The Substack may return eventually and isn’t being deleted, but that’s it for now. Thanks for reading it - I enjoyed writing it.
