The app for independent voices

So I’ve been having a real rough month debugging everything. Despite all my best efforts to stick as close to the preceding code as possible to quicken implementation, nothing that originated from source works as logic dictates. Some progress has been made, though, for the “Update That Should Be Coming Soon, PLEASE!” update, so it’s best to keep others up to speed:

• I got a majority of Polling working. You’re able to put in any DText for both the description of the poll and the choices. Choices are created using the containing keyterms “pc-NUMBER:” and “::end”. There are examples available when you create a new poll just to remind users what to do. They are case insensitive, and the creating process is slow right now. I need to fix that.

• I finally figured out enough DText to add direct links to pollings and [gator] functionality, which turns the containing text a different color depending on the theme. You’re able to choose to either quote or gator someone in comments and forum posts.

• When you vote in polls, it also submits the text available in the choice, so if someone retroactively changes the choice, your vote retains the original text. It should work when I unfuck the voting system tomorrow.

• I can start polls (with extreme scuffedness rn), and pausing is broken until I wake up tomorrow as miserable as I have been. All my custom timing logic works flawlessly, because I’m the most competent programmer to touch the source of all tragedy.

• There’s a whole bunch of protections against exploitation involved in the background. There’s a ten-minute pausing delay after starting a poll. There’s a pretty cool system with voting I made to prevent people from submitting unrelated choice text and values. Moderation can remove someone’s Custom PFP in a single click now. Miscellaneous important stuff.

• I fixed a “performance issue” that I had no idea the origin of, since the prototype Polling page I drafted up before adding it ran great. Turns out, my browser’s hardware acceleration was off! That’s great! If only there were a Discord server channel that could’ve told me my methods ran fine when I gave them the entire SCSS file of my prototype instead of being SMARMY FUCKS 24/7!

I am NOT going to these people for help with new implementations like Pollings and other future additions because they will 100% steal my code to thanklessly use on their shitty pedophile site. Awful, AWFUL people.
