The most pressing antisemitic threat in America today arises from a disturbing alliance between far-left activists and Islamic extremists. This threat is compounded by the damaging rhetoric from far-right figures like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Andrew Tate. These individuals not only undermine Israel's right to defend itself but also perpetuate harmful stereotypes about Jewish people and introduce new antisemitic myths.
Remarkably, all three deny being antisemitic.
French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre offers a compelling insight that aptly captures the mindset of Carlson, Owens, and Tate: "Never believe that antisemites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They recognize that their claims are frivolous and easily challenged. Yet, they indulge in this behavior, knowing it is their adversaries who feel compelled to engage responsibly with language. The antisemite... enjoys manipulating discourse; by offering nonsensical justifications, they undermine the seriousness of those they confront. They revel in bad faith, aiming not to persuade through logical argument but to intimidate and bewilder. When pressed too hard, they often retreat into silence, signaling with a dismissive phrase that the time for debate has passed."
We must persist in exposing these deceitful antisemites and confront their distorted narratives, recognizing the urgency of combating antisemitism across the entire political spectrum.
