In 2009, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly called Rahm Emanuel a "self-hating Jew" or "self-loathing Jew" during an argument in the Oval Office.

More likely, Rahm Emanuel is a perennial opportunist.

Rahm Emanuel made the following well-known statement in November 2008, soon after becoming Chief of Staff to President-elect Barack Obama: "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before."

The Democratic Party faces serious challenges related to anti-Semitism and its stance on Israel. Rahm Emanuel, who has expressed interest in running for President, has seized this crisis for personal gain.

While he may not fit the label of self-hating Jew, his approach often seems opportunistic, particularly in attributing excessive blame to Netanyahu. Netanyahu is a boogeyman to many Democrats who fail to recognize the true causes of Middle East instability: Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Muslim Brotherhood.
