Yesterday after a full morning of homeschooling, tending to a baby and toddler, and trying to keep up with all the other things around the house I made a healthy decision…

Tomorrow would be our last day of the school year.

Thinking we’d go another few weeks, this decision just felt right for everyone. Schooling with a baby/toddler has always been the hardest part of homeschooling, so giving myself grace to wrap things up and start again in a few months was what we all needed.

So today, we began the morning with silent reading for everyone, followed by lighting our candles and doing our bible time together.

There’s more to my kids’ education and lives than book work— and having a mom who isn’t overwhelmed is a gift I can give them too. 🕯️
