I do not claim to be a good writer. Some people on this platform are confident in their writing abilities—I am not one of them.
I have been writing for 2 years and did not have time to develop my craft yet. I am practicing and dedicating time to improving. Hopefully I will believe I am a good writer, or a great one, at some point. I’m just not there yet. (This is not a post fishing for compliments, please do not tell me I am a good writer.)
However, sometimes I read old writing and I’m surprised or impressed by what the younger-writer version of myself put out.
Or, I’m working on a piece, and I watch it come together and I am proud of it.
All this to say, if you struggle with your confidence as a writer, look for those small moments of pride. They add up.
