Remember: the trad wife movement is a political persuasion towards patriarchy and authoritarian control. It is not about any or all of what we humans do to nest, curate, and build stable homes and families of peace, beauty, and comfort. It takes a lot more to become a “trad wife” than to nurture a cozy home, and the exhaustion Wolff describes here (as well as the faint whiff of spankings) is a real driver with real intention behind it, brought to us by the same Christian Nationalists legislating and unleashing violence against women and families now. No one is a trad wife just because they put flowers on their table for a dinner they made from scratch. But if we post about those flowers and that meal, an algo fueled by subtle red pills just might serve up more of the same.
