Bloomberg’s Eric Roston: “The 1.5C warming limit enshrined in the Paris Agreement, already on life support, is too high given humanitarian concerns”

Nope, the Paris Agreement didn’t “enshrine” 1.5C. Here’s what it says (Wikipedia): “The Paris Agreement's long-term temperature goal is to keep the rise in mean global temperature to well below 2 °C (3.6 °F) above pre-industrial levels, and preferably limit the increase to 1.5 °C (2.7 °F).”

In other words, 2C is the primary target and 1.5C is a stretch goal. 1.5C certainly isn’t “enshrined.”
