Yes there are pro-Nazi publications on Substack. No, I don’t think we should do anything about them. It’s cliché but I think the marketplace of ideas is working.
The author lists at least 4 publications promoting Nazi or White supremacy views:
Andkon’s Reich Press
White-Papers
Turning Point Stocks
The Tribalist
They all have either low or no “engagement,” and one of them hasn’t had a post in over a year.
One overtly Nazi newsletter called The Tribalist recently published a fawning interview with Billy Roper, a former skinhead who led the most prominent American neo-Nazi organization in the 1990s.
This is the post: thetribalist.substack.com/p/billy-roper….
As of now, the post has no likes, no comments, and no reposts.
But when platforms are too permissive, they risk being overrun by bigots, harassers, and other bad-faith actors who drive away other users
As far as I can tell, Substack hasn’t promoted to me any Notes from Nazi publications. Quite the contrary actually. For instance I was shown a piece arguing convincingly there were a lot of anti-semitism in North American academia: substack.com/@tianwen/note/c-43643586.
In other words, neo Nazis are yelling into the void. Great, let them continue.
