A group of Slovene sociology students at the Faculty of Social Sciences recently asked me to record a brief podcast with them for a series they’re doing on sociological classics like Max Weber and Emile Durkheim. Obviously, I was asked to to the Karl Marx episode, seeing as how I wrote multiple books (and did a whole PhD) on his theories and Marxism more generally.
Here are my more fleshed out thoughts (in English) on the cool questions they put to me.
I touch on Synthetic Marx, class polarization and the alleged disappearance of the middle class, income (non-)stagnation, and the feasibility of communist revolutions today.
