What if federal agents raided the headquarters of Walmart, Amazon, and Apple over fraud scandals? We’d take notice, right?

But that's almost exactly what's happened in our largest school systems - and we seem to be missing the pattern. 

The truth: it can be shockingly easy to steal from schools. Bad behavior is not entirely preventable. But recent cases suggest some districts aren't making a credible effort.

We can do much better without strangling our systems with red tape. 

Stealing resources meant for children should be really difficult, right?
