"Are you turning a blind eye to the invisible help that is all around you?"

Poet David Whyte asks this in his work challenging the myth: "There's no free lunch."

But what if that's wrong?

In 1998, I cold-called a legendary investor after he spoke to my college class. Days later, he made one phone call that landed me my first real job. A year later, I ran into him on an elevator. He remembered my name—and my family members' names.

That "free lunch" changed everything. The truth? Free lunches exist everywhere. And the best part isn't receiving them—it's giving them.

This week I'm asking two questions:

1️⃣ What "free lunch" changed your life?

2️⃣ Who can you give one to this week?

I wrote about the philosophy and practice of free lunches in today's post—including why Adam Grant says givers create ripple effects while takers create zero-sum games.
