This is why I say that It’s none of my business how my work is interpreted by someone else. I’ll always want to connect with people and understand what they think about something, but I’ll never internalize the meanings they get out of the work and allow that to affect what I make.

To exhibit work is to reveal something personal about yourself and invite a conversation. The internal questioning becomes external. At that point, full ownership isn’t yours anymore as it’s open to interpretation. That is where the vulnerability lies, but also where connection to others becomes visible.
