Here’s a neat thing you might not know about film scans: film projection uses direct light (from a single point). Film scanners typically diffuse light. This is sorta subtle, but it actually has a visible difference, as demonstrated in the images below. This is one of many reasons why seeing films projected feels so different than seeing the scanned versions on a digital display. Picture is from Scan2Screen.
