One major issue today is the absence of a clear transition between boyhood and manhood, which helps explain the rise of immature men who never fully step into adulthood. Without a defined passage marking this change, many remain psychologically stuck in adolescence despite growing older.

A similar pattern can be observed among women. When there is no meaningful transition into adulthood, some distance themselves from responsibility and maturity, prioritizing endless leisure and indulgence over deeper commitments. The culture of excessive “girls’ nights,” where responsibilities are temporarily abandoned in favor of pure escape, often reflects not feminine maturity but prolonged girlhood.

Such behavior does not embody womanhood; it reveals an unfinished developmental shift.

At its core, the problem lies in the missing psychological shift that should occur in both boys and girls. Without symbolic or social rites of passage guiding individuals from childhood into adulthood, the internal evolution never fully takes place, leaving many adults physically grown yet mentally uninitiated into mature life.
