Tonight in Munich, I hit pause on photographing because the music deserved my full attention. At the Isarphilharmonie, the foyer buzzed with that pre concert excitement, and a giant mirror ball turned the crowd into a moving constellation of reflections.
On stage, Quadro Nuevo took us on a joyful, borderless journey: hints of France and Greece, a warm breeze of Brazil, and then onward into South America, slipping effortlessly between jazz and tango and whatever you would call the space in between. Virtuosic playing, unusual instruments, curious textures and colors, an absolute feast for the ears. I left smiling, humming, and very happy to have traded the camera for pure listening.
