As Tōfuya Ukai Saginuma isn’t on any of the major tourist trails (Kanagawa is less visited than Yamanashi prefecture!!!), you’ll have to leave central Tokyo and venture out to the suburbs. There’s not much in Kawasaki I’d pair it with, at least not for first-time visitors. But if you’ve had enough of Harajuku’s crowds or Shibuya’s neon energy, dinner here makes for a perfect antidote. For something closer, Ukai also runs a branch in central Tokyo. And if 30 min from Shibuya feels too urban, try their Hachioji place, takes you even further away from the city.
