Had the most energizing day of conversations with fellow podcast hosts, producers, editors, & managers…and am super excited to take another step on this podcasting journey! Honestly, it amazes me just how many talented are out there putting their voices and gifts into their world.
A huge theme from today’s chats was SUSTAINABILITY.
A.k.a., how to create a show that is 1) deeply meaningful and fulfilling to the host/co-creators as individuals; and, at the same time 2) offers tremendous value to the audience that fulfills a real need.
Apparently, podcasts that are difficult to sustain typically lean too heavily on #1 or #2….so, I’m definitely going to do some deep soul-searching on what this balance might looks like for me.
What do you think? Which podcasts (here on substack or other platforms) do you keep going back to? What value does it bring you? Or, maybe you’ve started one or multiple shows…what’s your advice on sustainability in podcasting?
