I’m skeptical literally in that same sentence, when I say he could obviously not be telling the truth. You don’t have to believe it, but you have to consider it; you can’t just dismiss it as a non-element because it’s from a Trump person.

When I see reporters doing that it makes me wonder what else they’re leaving out.

Well if Rubio said there’s more to the story. What the hell haponed to your skepticism of govt officials, especially ones with a propensity to lie constantly?

Someone I follow on Substack, who has been wrestling with faith amid profound pain, recently shared that she’s let go of trying to believe in God. She went further, declaring that God doesn’t exist and that Jesus isn’t coming to save us. She described this as freedom.

Her words hit me like a wave of grief, a sickness in my soul. I’m not judging her—I can’t fathom the experiences that brought her to this point. But her words reminded me of when my mom told me she was done fighting her cancer. She…

so much of hollywood film is about self-realization by breaking free from cultural and natural constraints. this film is has the opposite narrative arc: its about the reinstantiation of right order by obeying cultural wisdom and custom. Both Father and daughter obey and sacrifice their own wishes to conform to the order of things. And its beautiful.

“late spring” by yasujiro ozu is one of my all time favorites. it can be watched in season now.

The criticism “You don’t criticize Trump enough” is maddening because you learn it has to be constant to be accepted, and there’s seldom any effort to acknowledge opposing factors. It’s not true of Andrew, but in 99% of cases, these criticisms are coming from a very specific type of person.

They’re usually people who don’t even acknowled…

Just made the mistake at looking at the publication that with increasing levels of nerve calls itself The Free Press.

The almost total avoidance of coverage of the current government threats to freedoms as basic as habeas corpus, due process and free speech on campus is quite something. And when there is coverage, it’s nitpicking in order to defend Trump.

Did they mean none of it?

no, substack. we don't want reels. we want:

  • an offline option: to be able to read pieces without internet

  • saving notes: a way to save notes from other people so you can go back to them when you need them

  • a better interface for reading longform pieces: the ability to remove them once you’ve finished reading, etc.

  • better discovery tools: so we can actually find new writers without relying on algorithms or endless scrolling

  • creating community: a way to create smaller group chats with selected members

So, here’s the thing: I was so nervous when I scheduled today’s fiction post.

Would people like my story? Would it offend some subscribers? Would it land like a lead balloon?

Seems like silly worrying, doesn’t it? But to me, this whole thing felt like a big risk. So far only trusted friends had seen this novella. But how would my newslette…

Right now on Substack, Faith & Spirituality is one category.

That means a young Christian searching for writings on the Gospel of John are listed beside full-moon rituals.

That means Scripture reflections are grouped in with psychics & tarot card readings.

It means a Catholic mother looking for strength in suffering might be shown a post on…

I heard a few too many opinion pieces asserting "the stock market is back where it was on April 2, which shows the economy has adjusted to the tariffs" so I had to do a podcast focused on how much is still to come on tariffs.

Most companies are still working off inventory they brought in before the tariffs went into effect. It very much r…

The thing the Democrats will do now is create chaos at the grass roots level. Protest by blocking highways, mask up and vandalize, show up at government officials' homes, interfere with ICE operations, destroy property, set fires and lawyer up. The Dems' insane shenanigans will move to the streets. It's imperative they get there asses kicked. Also look for more election interference and fraud at the state and local level.

What makes our society so vile today is that nearly everything is monetized, profit maximized, made sticky and addictive, and turned into a subscription model. Behaviors, instincts, and human nature are weaponized against us. We don't have free exchange between sovereign citizens, instead we have a series of deceptions and traps. In the space of 50 years we went from liberalism to predation.
