Stylistically, the Valiants were classic 1970s technicians with a flair for psychology—quick tags, double-team spots, and crowd-baiting antics that generated massive heat (and occasional cheers due to their over-the-top charm). They were not high-flyers like The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (who revolutionized speed and babyface fire in the 1980s) or powerhouses like the Road Warriors/Legion of Doom (Hawk & Animal), whose spike-laden destruction and face-paint intimidation redefined “intimidation” across promotions. Nor were they the pure mat wizards of The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart), whose technical precision and later 1980s/90s success emphasized storytelling depth.
