I interviewed dozens of candidates for analytics and DS roles.
The factor that distinguished great candidates wasn’t their technical skills — it was their soft skills.
Many candidates were able to pass technical interviews covering SQL, Python etc.. But the majority failed when we asked them to solve an analytical case study focused on a real business problem.
It’s not that case studies are incredibly hard to crack; it’s just that most candidates were underprepared for this kind of interview.
