I’m a big believer in prayers that are angry. They are raw, vulnerable, and more often than not include phrases like “I can’t do this by myself!” - all humble admissions, the things that actually allow God to work.
It’s not even about being angry at God, but being angry or overwhelmed by a situation, and then taking all those thoughts and feelings - and most importantly, not editing them one bit - and throwing them into God’s lap. “You deal with this!” An angry prayer can be a prayer of trust and surrender, pouring from a soul who knows God can handle it all.
To quote Tom Hanks in Saving Private Ryan, “gripes go up.” Imagine if we all did that more instead of first typing or talking to other humans. Imagine what would begin to happen within us if God was the first recipient of our rage instead of our fellow man.
