I don't remember how I came to know your work but this essay is excellent. One viewpoint I almost never hear is what punishment will the West suffer as a result of the reckless and inhuman behavior toward the vulnerable people outside the West by our politicians, corporations and bureaucrats while those priviledged enough to benefit were apathetic to their plight. A thousand years ago literacy was rare, a hundred years ago it was improved but shallow, today literacy and access to knowledge is available to everyone, This massive change in the knowledge of the average adult coupled with access to the cumulative knowledge of all history makes the masses a much more formidable force to contain. Government is all about containment and that model has been challenged in the past decade with the rise of people with the knowledge, time and willingness to share facts that dispute official pronouncements. Courageous real journalists exposed the lies about, Covid, the mRNA guinea pig experiments, the vilification of Trump, Farage, Milie, Orban, Weidel, resulting in the desperate attempt by the bureaucracy to prevent their reckoning for the mismanagement, greed and corruption we now know all to well. The West together has abused its advantage to the point where they present an existential danger to themselves while ignoring they too will sink with the ship, A true case of delusion, hubris and denial that will only be realized once the music stops. Like their response to Trump winning, none of them can understand how it happened or why. Our downfall happened very slowly but I consider 9/11 a pivotal shift in the consolidation of power in the intelligence agencies with their consolidation and the absolute infiltration of the social media giants which allowed them to think they had it all under control. Every little constraint on Liberty adds up to an increase in the bureaucracy and must be considered cumulative instead of only a minor change. Too many are people are too busy ignoring the storm while their future is robbed right from under their noses. As many intelligent economists say "prices are not goin up you money is going down".
