Trump's actions today are not about making us safer or protecting law enforcement. They are political theater designed to distract from his utter economic, political, and policy failures.

He wants us to forget about DOGE, Elon Musk, and his drugs.

He wants us to forget he’s cutting Medicaid to give even bigger tax breaks to billionaires. He wants us to forget his cabinet endangered our troops by using an app to discuss national security plans.

This is why he is intentionally inflaming a tense situation he created with his own immigration policy, which is itself not anchored in any logical or true policy, but rather a racist and inhumane belief that anyone not white and not rich does not belong in our country.

Trump is responsible for this situation and he is making it worse.

Sen. Reed, Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, is right when he says “the president is forcibly overriding the authority of the governor and mayor and using the military as a political weapon. This unprecedented move threatens to turn a tense situation into a national crisis.” 

We need leaders who can calm and contain a tough situation, not blow it up for their own political gain.
