I always thought that the reason many couples argued or even broke up while working from home during the pandemic was that most people suck at relationships and/or are poor matches, and spending whole days together exacerbated the problems they were able to cope with when spending most of their days separately.

But now, having experienced this myself, I believe the main reason is how most women can’t handle their men being present, but unavailable while on Zoom calls or doing focused work. It doesn’t matter that this is real value added work, putting bread on the table - on emotional level, it’s exactly the same as if he was playing video games.
