The 5th Century Nestorian Cross of Anuradhapura is one of the oldest Christian artefacts in South Asia.
Found in Anuradhapura, once the greatest city in Sri Lanka, this cross belonged to city's Persian Christian community around 500AD!
Along with the ‘St Thomas Crosses’ in Kerala, Goa and Tamil Nadu, the Anuradhapura cross challenges the misconception that Christianity arrived in South Asia with European imperialism.
