There is a knowledge in me that I will crash again, I will be mangled and injured, I will go into my old age (if I’m lucky) in a crumbling body that’s constantly in pain, and I cannot stop. When I’m riding, pushing the speed, there is only the present moment. An eternal flow state. I literally don’t know another way to be in this world anymore, and I imagine it’s the same for most athletes.
