sometimes i wonder how many versions of myself i’ve outgrown without even noticing. i look back at old photos and remember the thoughts i used to carry, the dreams i thought would save me. it’s strange how you can live inside yourself every day and still not realize you’re evolving. it’s only when you look back that you realize how far you’ve come, how many lives you’ve already lived in the same skin.

Thank God! It is so hard to speak up when one is active duty because the powers that be can make your life so miserable; it takes courage beyond the ordinary.

I have rarely been embarrassed by the conduct of the Marines, but the Marine generals now are the most cowardly pieces of shit I can imagine. They are a disgrace to the uniform, the Corps, and the country.
I am of more recent vintage than you: I was with 3/8 (mostly) from 83-87. My BIL did two tours in VN, the second (easy) one was with H and S 1/3 towards the end of ‘68 and previous to that he did a bloody one in ‘67, but I forgot the unit. He just came back from Ca trying to help out one of his buddies.
I totally agree with you about Biden’s leadership but, unfortunately, a fair amount of Republican “leaders” are equally unpatriotic and cowardly and will do anything for their handlers in Big Pharma, Big Tech, Military contractors and so on.
I don’t know how it will end, but I for one, will never bend the knee to this abomination we are living through now.
